The Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Wall & Floor Tiling (Construction) qualification has been developed for achievement in a real workplace environment which means you need to be employed to undertake this qualification. This qualification enables you, the learner, to demonstrate and recognise your skills, knowledge and understanding and to demonstrate your competence in a real workplace environment so you can work as a wall and floor tiler within the construction industry.

There are no formal entry requirements to take this qualification. This qualification can be undertaken without any previous training or qualifications in this subject area, however we do require at least 3 years experience in the trade.

A day visit to one of our assessment centres to carry out your practical assessment. The assessment will be taken under test conditions and will test your abilities and competency in your trade.

Before attending the centre, you will discuss your past experience and your job role with the assessor who will also explain to you about the qualification and what will be expected of you. You will fill in your registration and induction documents and a date will be arranged for your practical assessment. You will be expected to gather witness testimonies and endorsements from your employer to verify your experience and competence.

EWPA (Experienced Worker Professional Assessment) The Experienced Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA) route was introduced to provide an alternative to the traditional OSAT method of portfolio building and on- site assessment. It is used to assess experienced learners who would prefer to demonstrate their competence using a one-off practical assessment.

On completion of this qualification you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding and demonstrated competence to progress on to a higher level qualification in the same or similar occupational area or enable entry into supervisory and management positions within the workplace. Industry will accept the qualification on its own as entry to a job role.
